🌟 How Old Is Your State? 🌟 The 13 Original Colonies and their years of statehood: Delaware: 1787, Pennsylvania: 1787, New Jersey: 1787, Georgia: 1788, Connecticut: 1788, Massachusetts: 1788, Maryland: 1788, South Carolina: 1788, New Hampshire: 1788, Virginia: 1788, New York: 1788 North Carolina: 1789, Rhode Island: 1790 Interesting Tidbits: - Delaware was the first state to ratify the Constitution, earning it the nickname "The First State." - Virginia, known as the "Mother of Presidents," is the birthplace of eight U.S. presidents. - Rhode Island was the last of the original 13 colonies to ratify the Constitution, holding out until 1790. - Disneyland opened in 1955, four years before Alaska and Hawaii became states in 1959. - Arizona was the last contiguous state to join the Union in 1912. - California was admitted as the 31st state in 1850, without ever being a territory.
