Celebrating Victoria George-Taylor's first 90 days at Wates Developments In her first 90 days, Victoria, our Commercial Land Director, has made an indelible mark on our commercial land business, Wates Strategic Space. Victoria has over 15 years of industry experience in the retail and industrial sectors, having previously held roles at Lidl and Screwfix in their UK-wide acquisition teams. She brings valuable knowledge and deep technical knowledge to the team. "Joining from Lidl, I was eager to broaden my experience and take on new challenges," Victoria reflects. "The essence of what the team is aspiring to do through our Commercial Land operation was compelling from day one, and the chance to play a leading role in shaping the commercial land promotion business was too good to let pass." Since joining the business three months ago, I've been busy working closely with Meryl Baker, our Strategic Portfolio Director, to establish our Commercial Land strategy, and we’ve been making significant progress in securing new sites, including two really exciting projects in Chichester and Warwickshire. It’s been a whirlwind of learning and growth." Victoria continued, "Residential property remains a political hot topic, but what isn't talked about anywhere near enough is that new homes must be accompanied by new employment spaces too if we want to build vibrant communities. Time and time again, we see that there aren't many allocated spaces for retail or employment in most local plans. I want to champion this issue, and bring that to the forefront of people's agendas. If the need for new homes is vital, then we need to create new jobs and employment opportunities as well, and this is where our expertise and capabilities can really add value." Victoria is currently building the team, with recruitment for a Commercial Land Manager or Senior Commercial Land Manager underway to support the growing portfolio & business. ❤️🔥 What a difference a touch of positivity and passion has! I’ve had such an enjoyable first few weeks at The Old Courthouse in Cheltenham and although there is much work to be done, I cannot stress how exciting it is to be part of the project we’re building here. It’s amazing how passion, positivity and direction is all you need to engage a team and help them get firing in the right direction. I don’t think we value it enough in Hospitality. 🌟Care about your team. 🌟Care for your guests. 🌟Set goals that you can all strive together for as a unit. One thing I will always remember from a mentor of mine; 🌟Hospitality isn’t just customer service, labour costs and financial percentages. 🌟It’s about how you make your guests ‘FEEL’ and leaving your venue with a happy memory of the service and staff, the atmosphere and the experience. If we can get this part right it’s more than half the battle we have as leaders in the industry. Let me know your thoughts? #hospitalitymanagement #brunningandprice #serviceexcellence #teamdevelopment #oldcourthousecheltenham

Senior Living General Contractor TX | BTG Podcast Co-host | VIP Ignite Experience | NIC Future Leader | Rooting For You
It only takes a few moments... When you walk into an establishment, it only takes a couple of minutes to realize whether or not you are in a place that has a great culture attached to it. And when you walk into a senior living community, it's no different. Where does great culture begin? With great leadership. I'm very fortunate to be in senior living communities around Texas and Florida often. I get to witness what great culture looks like and see first hand how leadership steers that ship. And great culture can be a major success factor if you're doing a planned renovation project. Even when The Bridge Group Construction has a simple construction project, in an occupied senior living community, there will be challenges to overcome. That's part of the process! But when there's a great culture in the building, it exudes into the project work and creates a smooth and desired outcome. Being on the same page, and on the same team is crucial in getting past those little bumps, challenges, and all the changes along the way. In the senior living industry, team members understand this better than anyone because they realize that there are bigger, more important things than a delayed delivery of a faucet or a light. So thank you... Thank you to the community team members - for keeping these things in context!

Any Company, whatever the size, turnover or staff, can only be as good as its people. All of them. A reasonably sound indication of the company ethic, its value to personnel, and its approach to family values is invariably the number of long serving members within the organisation. Those individuals that could have moved, and most likely would have had offers elsewhere, but still chose to stay. There are many reasons why you would choose to do so, and I know, it is vital to find out why that is. I have been conducting a series of face-to-face meetings with all our staff, both internal and site based, mainly because we have staff in all departments that have been with Glidefield for more than 10yrs +. I have found, though I knew it really, that communication is the key. That whatever is happening within a business, good or bad, is passed on. That the feeling of inclusion, the togetherness is maintained and progress or setbacks is shared. We will be highlighting two of our long serving engineers in future posts, so I will let them tell you why they stayed and the value they put on their service. Paul. #longservicerecord #allthingsglidefield #inclusivityrocks

Soon I will be sharing the behind-the-scenes of developing my own personal brand! My team has been pushing me to do this for YEARS! To be honest, I didn't think that others would want to hear my story. Now I realize that my story is what drives my purpose and defines my values. How I serve is drawn from my experiences. My purpose as CEO of Wakefield Brunswick was clear. As Angela Devlen -- much less so until now. I have been working on several things that will launch in 2024. My story was instrumental to the process. So, I will be sharing the process and lessons learned as I continue. Questions? Lessons learned you want the real truth about? Just ask.
