Scammers are stealing banking credentials by sending fake e-transfer deposit emails. Clicking the link will prompt you to enter your banking credentials, and then they can drain your bank account. The RCMP in Manitoba have some great advice to protect yourself against this scam in this article, including setting up e-transfer autodeposit, but also set up MFA on all your bank accounts. If you get an unexpected e-transfer deposit, it's probably too good to be true.
