Presentation is a skill among many that a designer should have :)
Don't judge Designers based on their portfolios 👇🏼 I know, That's probably the only quick and easy way to evaluate someone's design skills. But that's not the whole story. Here are some unseen perspectives: - Many designers are too busy to change their portfolios. - Some cool projects can't go in portfolios because of strict contract terms and NDAs - Making a great portfolio takes a bunch of time and work. Sometimes people keep trying to make it perfect and forget to actually show it to others. - There's a huge lack of motivation for updating portfolios (rigorous process, tough market, unemployment, ...) - Many designers feel nervous about showing their portfolios to others and asking for feedback - Not all of the designers have good visual skills What else ? ________ P.S. I'm not saying we should hire without looking at portfolios. ________ #portfolio #userexperience #ux #ui #design #hiring

Hey everyone! I have a small ask – when you stumble upon posts seeking UX or product designers, would you mind dropping my name in the comments or giving me a shoutout? I've noticed many helping out others, and I'd love to be part of that. I'm eager to explore roles at various levels – from entry to mid and even some senior positions. Your support means a lot! #UXDesign #openforwork #ProductDesign #JobOpportunities #CareerGrowth"

If you’re a designer looking for a new or your first role then today’s post is for you 👋 Like most companies, Strafe Creative receives many applicants for design roles, and often too many give individual feedback. For some applicants, however, there is just one reason why they haven’t been successful. The contents of the #portfolio don’t align with the application. What do I mean by this? If you are applying for a #UXdesign role, your portfolio should demonstrate creativity, ideas and problem-solving abilities in #UX use cases. Not, examples of graphic design suitable for print or static #social media posts. As someone hiring a UX designer, I want to see that you have identified your user and designed with them in mind. I know you’re probably wondering, ‘What do I do, if I want to be a UX designer but only have graphic design experience?’ We’ve put together three ideas for incorporating UX design into your portfolio without any hands-on experience. Drop us a ♥️ if this post was useful for you

My 3 biggest struggles as a Junior Product Designer were: 1. Scattering my energy: Applying to any job with "design" in the title left me burnt out and no closer to a role that actually suited me. 2. Making random connections: I used to think that connecting with everyone would maximize my opportunities. In reality, it diluted the value of my network. 3. Underestimating the power of a strong portfolio: I thought any portfolio would do. It's not just about showcasing your work, but narrating your skills and potential. For those of you who are just starting out or facing these struggles: 1. Be targeted: Research the companies that align with your goals and values. Only then, connect with people in those organizations. This will make your network far more valuable. 2. Tailored applications: Customized applications that resonate with the company’s culture and needs will set you apart. 3. Portfolio with a purpose: Your portfolio should tell a compelling story about your skills, your journey, and what you bring to the table. 🤔 Struggling with anything else? Another Designers’ praise after working with us! This Principal UX Designer came to us with 25 years of experience. They wanted help to craft a professional Product / UX Design portfolio for a new role with a new employeer. Before hiring us, they built a basic portfolio on their own. After a few months together, we achieved what they wanted! They now have a strong portfolio with 3 work samples and a framework to put together more sections. Here is what they had to say about working with us: “Steven has lots of resources to help structure your thinking, but uses them in a flexible way. He will meet you where you are at instead of force fitting a particular process on your situation.” If you can relate, then… 💬 Comment “RESULTS” for CC4D to help you with a flexible way to get the results you want 🤝 Join our FREE Career Community for Designers to get even more - link in comments #clienttestimonial #careertransition #productdesign #jobseeker #moreIn2004 #cc4designers

This is probably my most candid post. I never imagined my life would end up this way, but really, who would? I was laid off six months ago after my position was eliminated. Since then, I have only managed to get three interviews out of the hundreds+ applications I have sent into the void. My unemployment is set to end in a few weeks. My family recently had our EBT benefits taken away (This is what had been guaranteeing our survival) And today, we lost our only vehicle. Our only means of getting around efficiently. We are in dire straits. I have never been so consumed with dread. I have a two-year-old to think of, and honestly, I don't know what to do. I am working on projects to update my portfolio. I am still applying for jobs. I need help. If you have worked with me, know me, know the dedicated and hard-working person I am, and you have a job you think I would make a good fit for, please let me know. I want to work. I want to ensure my family is stable again. I am a Junior UX Designer/Writer. https://lnkd.in/ggsrvCKF My current projects are: Designing an analytics/stats page for a mobile app. Developing a separate mobile app to track specific food data. Creating a small mobile game. All of this working with a developer in my free time. I have the experience, I have the drive, I have the skill. I need a job. #uxjobs #hireme #openforopportunities UX Jobs #juniordesigner #userexperience #ux #uxdesign #userexperiencedesign
