Our Brooklyn Park office got in the holiday spirit with a potluck lunch! ❄ Great conversation, great food, and even better sweaters. Unfortunately, we couldn't snag a photo of the first place winner (New Bu) of our ugly sweater contest, but you'll have to trust us when we say his sunglass-wearing Christmas llama sweater definitely deserved to win 😎 We did get a photo of our 2nd and 3rd place winners, though!

Today, January 4th, holds special significance as World Braille Day 2024 unfolds. Braille, recognized as a sophisticated method of reading and communication, serves as a symbol of hope for individuals facing visual impairments or dealing with the challenges of limited vision. On this notable occasion, we reflect on the profound importance of commemorating the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the visionary behind this indispensable system. The global community, with unanimous acknowledgment, pays sincere homage to Braille on World Braille Day, emphasizing the enduring importance of this tactile script in fostering awareness among the general public. The primary objective of dedicating World Braille Day to scrutiny is to underscore the widespread acknowledgment of the Braille method. Even in the contemporary era, the omission of Braille format integration by institutions such as banks, hospitals, and restaurants is a matter of concern. This neglect, along with the apparent lack of encouragement, denies individuals facing visual impairment rightful access to information, perpetuating barriers that should have been dismantled by now. In the face of this ongoing challenge, a heartfelt wish is extended for a Happy Braille Day! #WorldBrailleDay #Inclusion #Accessibility #BrailleAwareness

'Never eat alone.' I learned this early in my consulting career. We were always supposed to build relationships with clients - learn more about their business, build trust, and sell more work. This practice made me very comfortable eating and chatting with new acquaintances. Even after leaving consulting, I continued this practice, even setting a goal at Expedia to have lunch with three new people a week. Why lunch? I believe that eating together builds a different connection. It's informal. More personal than business. The conversation can stray outside work. We can relax. This ad is a good reminder to sit next to a stranger. You may meet someone interesting. You may alleviate their loneliness even for a brief moment. As 2023 comes to a close and we look forward to the next year, consider a new year goal to eat with someone new (or reconnect with an old friend) at least weekly. https://lnkd.in/gtC67bAj

Watcha gonna do with that duck? We're surrounded by people busy getting their ducks in a row, waiting for the perfect moment to finally show they belong. There's a yearning in many of us to prove our worth, to show we measure up to someone else’s standards of status and acceptance. Like a velvet rope at a club, there's always some exclusive benchmark for "making it." So we choose feats we imagine will win us that prize of validation. We seek rare trophies and power, and can envy those with what we lack. But real power is not found in exclusivity. It lies in no longer needing the approval. Getting your ducks in a row has its place. But at some point you must ask: Watcha gonna do with that duck? Will you use it to nourish others? To express something true and beautiful? The choice is yours.

It’s taken 50 years for Manchester United to reintroduce the Red Devil (without the crest/emblem elements) on their team jersey — however today it has far more practical significance. 50 years ago it was a creative idea for the club, where today it has the potential to become a strategic repositioning for the business. The majority of football clubs on earth have team badges that fall into the emblem category of logos as either shield or circular shapes. But one major concern for all modern brands today is legibility when reduced to an avatar on a variety of digital platforms. Traditional team badges vary in their success when reduced to minimum sizes but this does leave an incredible opportunity for all clubs to really focus in on what truly makes them unique. For most, club nicknames become so synonymous with the club that they are often the best place to start when repositioning or rebranding a football club. Manchester United / known as the Red Devils have done exactly that. Personally I love this new take on Manchester United, it’s like future planning for their brand in the digital first world we find ourselves in. As a strategic brand designer myself, I’d love to work with other clubs brave enough to do the same for their own brands & businesses ✊🏻.
