Building with Lego… engineering … a process… Opportunity. as this is a great video to teach your kids about … gears, bearings, couplings….seeing how things come together and then how they work beautifully as a system in unison …
Wherever I travel and see a Lego store, I always pop in and visit even for a quick whiz through. Who else does that I wonder…
Mondays are great to put plans into action - To get a clear picture of your business ( Lego builds) with all its moving parts identified. These need to work with your people engaged and contributing as part of your system. How is your system performing for you?
It’s easy to forget about engagement of our people. They, and their relationships to the work and each other, that’s the key to optimizing processes and maximizing results. There’s an art and a science to doing this, with logic. And not everything is in plain sight…
Have a great day!
ps. I’m not an engineer, but there’s lots of great engineers…. And physics intrigues me.
Don’t you love challenging the status quo ? Change allows for more growth… I love simplifying the complex, and drilling down to the details as everything is a process. I can do this all day, every day.

We will organize the IEEE RAS Summer School on Educational Robotics from July 8 to July 12 2024 in Graz, Austria.
To spark the interest of young people in Robotics and AI is of paramount importance. Unfortunately, resources are scarce at schools which are the natural multiplier in this endeavor.
Thus, the summer school aims to develop an easy-to-access robot simulation environment and ready-to-use teaching material for educational robotics in schools. Teachers, lecturers, and university students will work on this goal during a week that will offer keynotes, hands-on sessions, discussions, and a strategy workshop. Dive into topics such as technology, sustainability, accessibility, didactic concepts, and OpenRoberta and take part in material development and in shaping an easy-to-access future of educational robotics.
This summer school is a starting point of several activities toward ICRA 2026 in Vienna, Austria which will have a strong focus on educational robotics.

The Power of Repetition: Unveiling Expertise in Unlikely Places 📚✨
In the journey of mastering a skill, sometimes the most unexpected teachers emerge. Allow me to share a remarkable tale from my engineering college days.
There was a lady working in a xerox shop near our campus. Uneducated, yet she possessed a wealth of knowledge on engineering topics. How? Through the repetition of her daily tasks, she became a walking encyclopedia of engineering syllabi.
Students visiting her shop seeking xerox notes were in for a surprise. Not only did she flawlessly execute the copying process, but she also offered insights and explanations better than some of our professors!
This story beautifully illustrates the impact of repeated tasks on expertise. Through sheer repetition, she transformed mundane tasks into opportunities for learning and mastery. Her example reminds us that expertise can emerge from unexpected places and that dedication to even the most routine tasks can lead to profound knowledge and skill.
Let's embrace the power of repetition in our own pursuits, recognizing that mastery is often found in the small, everyday actions. 🌟

🤖 Robotics Unleashed! 🤖
🦾 Cluster 10 of COSMOS Robot Inventors has been on an incredible journey over the past few weeks, delving into the exciting realm of robotics. Our students have dedicated their time to crafting robots that can tackle an array of tasks. From popping balloons in exhilarating robot battles akin to Mario Kart to navigating mazes with autonomous precision through color detection, their creativity knows no bounds.
⚙️ Our students have thrived under the guidance of mentors Associate Professor Curt Schurgers and Associate Professor Nick Gravish as they crafted walking robots with a four-servo challenge and conceived robotic creations like delivery companions, detection experts, and musical marvels. These mentors, alongside our enthusiastic undergraduate cluster assistants, have brought complex concepts to life, igniting innovation at every step.
🌟 COSMOS isn't just a program; it's a transformative journey. Designed for motivated high schoolers (8th-12th grade) with a passion for math and science, COSMOS takes place across four UC campuses including the University of California, Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, and the University of California, Santa Cruz. It’s a community that fosters academic growth under the tutelage of exceptional educators. Together, we're nurturing the future generation of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians, empowering them to shape a brighter future for California, the nation, and beyond. 🌐🚀
