Embracing freedom, unity, and the enduring spirit of resilience, we celebrate Juneteenth with gratitude and reverence. At Accede Solutions Inc (accedesol.com), we honor this pivotal day, marking the end of slavery in America and recognizing the journey towards true liberty and justice for all. On June 19, 1865, nearly two years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation, Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas with news of freedom, liberating over 250,000 African Americans in what became known as Juneteenth or Freedom Day. This day symbolizes the principles of self-determination, citizenship, and democracy. On June 17, 2021, President Joe Biden signed a bill making Juneteenth the eleventh American federal holiday, the first new federal holiday since Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 1983. Join us in commemorating this significant milestone in American history and let's continue to build a future rooted in equality, understanding, and hope. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #Juneteenth2024 #liberationday #AccedeSolutions #UnityInDiversity #equality #staffinagency #MinorityOwned #staffing #blackculture #WomenOwnedBusiness #DEI #DiversityandInclusion #SmallBusiness #jobs #recruitment #socialequality #ClientServices #Jobsearch #extendedworkforce #contingentlabor #talentacquisition

Happy Juneteenth! Today marks a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing quest for equality. 🌍✊ The Emancipation Proclamation outlawed slavery in the U.S. in 1863. While Confederate states initially resisted, it wasn't until June 19, 1865, that Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, delivering the news of freedom to all enslaved individuals. This historical milestone led to the official proclamation of Emancipation Day in Texas in 1938. Texas went on to become the first state to establish Juneteenth as a state holiday in 1980. Juneteenth was officially recognized as a federal holiday in 2021. It became the first new federal holiday since Martin Luther King Jr. Day was adopted in 1983. As we commemorate this important day, let's reflect on our shared history and responsibility. Let's pledge to actively cultivate inclusivity in our workplaces and communities. And let's work together towards a future where diversity flourishes and opportunities abound for all. #Juneteenth #Freedom #Inclusivity #Equality #InspireChange #DEI

Today the United States celebrates Juneteenth. This 159-year observance recognizes the announcement by Union troops in the western most Confederate state of Texas that enslaved Black people in this territory were free by executive decree. While Juneteenth celebrations come together in recognition of what’s known as America’s second Independence Day, we want to highlight the importance of community. Without strong interpersonal relationships, fostered connection, and teamwork, we cannot achieve the crucial work that needs to be done to achieve racial equity, justice, and well-being. ETR is closed today for this observance, but when we get back to work, we will continue to fight for our vision—a world where all individuals and communities achieve their best health. On this day, take some time to learn more about Juneteenth from the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture. A little bit of interesting history for you today June 19th, 1865, when Union soldiers landed at Galveston, Texas, confirming the war's end and ensuring the freedom of all enslaved individuals. Though the Emancipation Proclamation was a beacon of hope in 1863, it took over two years for its promises to be realised in Texas, the last state of the Confederacy with institutional slavery. As we commemorate this pivotal moment in history, let's reflect on the journey towards equality and justice. The resilience and courage of those freed on Juneteenth continue to inspire. Let's honour their legacy by fostering inclusivity and championing diversity in our workplaces and communities. Yet, as we celebrate progress, let us also acknowledge the road ahead. The pursuit of justice is ongoing, and we must commit ourselves to creating a future where opportunity and freedom are not just ideals but realities for all. This Juneteenth, take time to educate, to celebrate, and to act. Whether through community service, participating in events, or simply broadening our collective understanding—every effort counts in honouring this significant day in history. #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #Equality

Divide & conquer by pitting groups against each other is an effective strategy for maintaining control. It protects the status quo. Non-Black POC against Blacks; Immigrants against Blacks; Blacks against Blacks (go figure!) The common denominator? anti-Blackness. Interesting article about how non-Black immigrants are complicit in the racial order - with Blacks on bottom. Sadly, there is widespread anti-Blackness. It’s why I’m not surprised to see Blacks over-represented at bottom levels in most organizations. I remain hopeful that true allies will come to learn the truth about American history and acknowledge the anti-Blackness that continues to exist so we can root it out. “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” We are one house. Isn’t it time to unite? We can all win. #antiblackness #uncomfortabletruth #racismrunsdeep #history #allGodschildren

Today is Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, marking the day in 1865 that the last of enslaved people in America were notified of their freedom two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. It’s also now recognised as a federal holiday following the passing of the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act in 2021. Freedom. Independence. Words we have historically associated with the 4th of July and the U.S. becoming independent from Great Britain without recognising or acknowledging that not all Americans were celebrating freedom at the same time. We must reflect on history, it’s impact, and how it continues to shape our thoughts and opinions about society and our place in it. Through relfection comes growth, and as an industry we still have a lot of growing to do.
Honoring the Ongoing Journey for Justice: Freedom Delayed, But Not Denied On Juneteenth, we commemorate a pivotal moment in American history, albeit one marked by a delay in realizing the promise of freedom. Though the Emancipation Proclamation was signed in 1863, enslaved African Americans in Texas wouldn't learn of their liberation until June 19th, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston. Juneteenth serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing fight for justice. Freedom is fundamental. It unlocks opportunity, fosters growth, and allows individuals to thrive. As we celebrate and reflect on Juneteenth, let's help ensure that the promise of liberty extends to everyone. Have personal Juneteenth stories? What do freedom and racial justice mean to you? We'd love to hear in the comments! #Juneteenth #BlackHistory #FreedomDay
