The Prevention Specialist is responsible for delivering curriculum-based life skills in a school-based setting. To provide youth prevention services that promote a proactive process to address health and wellness for youth, families, and communities by enhancing protective factors that increase knowledge, skills, and attitudes for making healthy choices. These services promote a proactive process to address adverse childhood experiences, social determinants of health, and/or other youth, family and community risk and protective factors. Services address the State’s four prevention priorities: underage alcohol use, tobacco and nicotine products use, marijuana and other cannabinoids use, and prescription drug misuse.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a social service-related field.
Experience
Strong communication skills-verbal and written.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain composure and handle pressure.
Experience in a community-based, youth-oriented organization.
Experience in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
Compensation
Salary: 40,000- 45,000 Based on experience.
Full benefits upon successful completion of the probationary period.
