Volunteer Board of Director

We are currently seeking passionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those facing the challenges of cancer. As a Board member, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our organization’s strategic direction, and fundraising to ensure that our programs continue to be free and available to anyone in need.

For over 50 years, Cancer Lifeline has been a friend to anyone impacted by cancer across Western Washington and beyond. We meet each person (patients, survivors, caregivers and friends and family members) where they are with high quality programs that reduce social isolation, address mental health and emotional support needs, provide practical guidance and financial assistance so they can  live their best life.

About Cancer Lifeline:

Each year, Cancer Lifeline serves over 8,000 patients, survivors, and caregivers/family members – of all ages, races, ethnicities, genders, and income levels - throughout Washington State and beyond with free programs that respond to each person’s unique needs. Our programs include:

·        Telephone Lifeline and Online Lifeline Chat

·        Support groups

·        Mental health counseling

·        Educational and experiential programs, including creative expression, exercise and movement, nutrition, stress reduction and relaxation

·        Children’s Art Therapy

·        Patient Financial Assistance Fund

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking individuals with a passion for improving the lives of people in our community affected by cancer. Ideal candidates will possess:

·        A strong dedication to our mission.

·        Leadership experience or a willingness to contribute their expertise in guiding organizational strategy.

·        A diverse background and perspective that enriches our Board’s collective decision-making.

·        A willingness to actively participate in fundraising efforts and advocate for Cancer Lifeline within the community.

·        A commitment to serve a three-year term and participate at bi-monthly meetings.
