Position Overview

The Vice President of Sales will play a pivotal role in driving the company's customer experience, sales, customer acquisition, and market entry strategies across North America. The VP of Sales will lead the development and execution of the sales department's strategic plan and budget, collaborating closely with the leadership team, sales management, and other stakeholders to achieve business objectives and embody the company's core values.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance as a member of the leadership team, contributing to the development of company plans and programs
  • Analyze and report on sales performance across product categories and geographic markets, informing leadership decisions and projections
  • Develop the annual sales budget and ensure effective territory management and resource allocation
  • Foster a customer-centric culture, communicating key initiatives and KPIs across the organization
  • Collaborate with sales management to develop and execute strategic and tactical plans, driving revenue growth and customer base expansion
  • Establish, track, and optimize sales department KPIs for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead the hiring, training, and development of the sales team, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of competitors, sales cycles, and customer behaviors
  • Represent the company in industry, business, and government forums to advance its interests
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment and customer focus in product development, marketing, and training
  • Liaise with international partners on sales-related matters
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, business, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred
  • At least 15 years of professional experience with a minimum of 5 years leading consultative/ collaborative sales teams
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful sales strategies and tactics
  • Experience in the medical device, software, or education markets required
  • Strong understanding of customer needs and ability to inform product and service development
  • Excellent decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software


Travel and Work Environment

  • Hybrid/ in-office position, with minimum three days required in-person
  • Regular travel (10-20%) within North America for industry events, sales meetings, and customer visits
  • Periodic international travel required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with frequent computer use and occasional need to move about the office
