Thermal Engineer

Position Overview: Mantel is an application-driven, purpose-built technology company. The products and research we pursue typically requires a diverse team of both domain experts and generalist practitioners with the ability to join domains and crystalize a vision. Mantel seeks a Thermal Engineer to its close-knit, collaborative Deployable Thermal Systems Team. This role will aid in the research and development of novel mobile and modular thermal energy systems.

Due to the nature of Mantel’s business, US Citizenship is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Innovate and pioneer the development of advanced thermal fluid systems, setting new benchmarks in efficiency and performance
• Masterfully assemble, troubleshoot, and meticulously evaluate cutting-edge prototype systems
• Lead the strategic design and precise specification of critical components
• Deliver comprehensive and insightful reports on designs, prototypes, and testing outcomes
• Execute thorough testing on prototype systems, capturing meticulous data and insightful observations
• Collaboration with other engineers, technicians, and external partners to effectively advance projects
  
  

What We Are Looking For In You

• BS or MS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a focus on thermal, heat transfer, and or fluid system design
• 3 - 15 years of experience in similar engineering roles
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issue and drive innovation in a research and development setting
• Excel in both collaborative and independent working environments
• Proficiency in performing assembly and machine operations
• Proficiency in MS Office and Google Docs
• Experience in Solidworks, OnDesign and/or Engineering Equation Solver (EES) is preferred but not required
• A background in systems engineering is preferred but not required
