Title: Test Engineer 1

Location: Remote

Duration: 9 Months (Potential to extend)

Description

• Required Qualifications:
• 2-5 years of hands-on experience with Data testing and hands-on knowledge of Python or other structured programming languages is required using Object Oriented methodologies.
• Strong experience with SQL and Relational databases and scripting languages such as Shell, or other scripting languages
• Strong understanding of API Testing, microservices, and distributed systems in cloud environments
• Experience working within a wide variety of automated testing frameworks, including Robot
• Experience working with Kubernetes
• Experience working in Cloud Applications like GCP or AWS
• Experience with BigQuery, Dataflow jobs
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker
• Two or more years of Agile development and test development experience
• Ability to work cross-functionally to collaborate with software development teams for the testing, deployment, and reporting on product performance, quality, security, and stability.
• Must have a strong desire to seek continuous improvement in the quality assurance processes
• Must be able to complete coding challenges as related to the role
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal guidance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Bonus: CI/CD experience, especially using cloud-based technologies
• Medical device industry, experience working with FDA design control process highly desired
• Experience with performance/load testing and maintaining framework
• Functional Description:
• Analyzes, designs, develops, programs, debugs, and modifies software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products in local, networked, cloud-based or Internet-related tools.
• Uses current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.
• May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
• Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans, automates scripts and programs for testing.
• Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures.
• Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software.
• Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action.
• Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software.
• Ensures quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.
• Judgement:
• Exercises good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new assignments.
• Experience and Education Requirements:
• Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, (a BS degree is preferred.)and a minimum of 2-5 years related experience or Masters's degree and 1-2 years equivalent industry experience.
• Language Skills:
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
• Looking for a strong testing background (2-5 years, minimum 2 years of experience), Software development engineering test, few years of experience with data testing, knowledge of Python and other programming languages, experience in SQL and other scripting languages, strong understanding of API testing, ability to create automated test kits, automation testing (no manual testing), understanding of microservices distributed environments, experience with Google Cloud, AWS, data flow, robot testing (nice to have)
• 2 or more years of Azure development and test development experience.
• This person will also work with other teams like cybersecurity, software DevOps, and quality.
