Systems Engineer (Hybrid)

*This is a hybrid position in Dallas, Texas*

Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team! This candidate will be responsible for top-tier support and project contributions. This role will have minor interaction with the ticketing queue and front-line support and will assist in a much broader way with the general needs of the department for reporting, support and updates in the environment and contribute to all projects and company initiatives regarding technology or any other requirements as requested.

Experience of the Right Candidate:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Windows Administration or Engineering positions.
• Strong expertise in VMware required.
• Experience with storage systems is desirable.
• Basic understanding of network and data operations.
• Administration experience within O365 portal.
• Exposure to Azure platform is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot application performance issues on the infrastructure side.

Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:

• Contribute on general project lift, learning the needs of the project, asking thoughtful questions, and contributing towards their completion.
• Coordinate upcoming projects with other engineers and systems admins, work towards a successful outcome.
• Take escalated incidents from IT staff and work with other engineers to solve those top tier problems.
• Assist IT personnel with training, knowledge base and transfer for all items as needed, especially regarding upper tier incidents.
• Answer all customer/end user questions and offer them access to helpful resources to ensure their satisfaction.
• Maintain accurate records of issues reported, steps taken, and resolutions reached in the ticketing system or via email/documentation otherwise.
