We’re hiring a Plant Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer!
Our Interior Systems Division is looking for a Plant Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer for its manufacturing facility in Louisville, KY, to drive the application of the quality assurance from the supply chain to meet customer requirements and actively encourages continuous improvement of supplier sites performance, procedures and processes.
You’ll work on challenges that matter
This job will require you to:
Responsible for supplier quality concerns by managing complaints in due time with active participation from suppliers.
He/She will request adequate Problem-Solving techniques (e.g. 8D) and reports regularly in reporting tools until closure (e.g. QSS)
Consolidate required supplier quality performance indicators for the plant and communicate them to the Plant Quality Manager and Plant Buyer
Schedule incoming inspection when supplier or product is on probation period
Schedule random incoming inspection to confirm conformity of supplier shipment, based on current performance and the potential risk to the customer
Conduct product or process audit of suppliers side as needed
Review the process of new incoming goods or suppliers based on input from the Advanced Supplier Quality (ASQ) Engineer and the Program Quality Leader (PQL)
Notify formally suppliers of their self certification status in co-operation with the plant buyer, (e.g. containment, escalation) if applicable
Communicate status of nonconforming goods to PC&L for production scheduling purposes
Responsible to write incoming inspection instructions for all incoming goods
Communicate customers/ Faurecia applicable quality requirements to suppliers (statutory and regulatory requirements, special product and process characteristics)
Capitalizes on new knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site

Authorities:
Review and approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP/PSW) for existing Bought[1]Out Parts (BOP) subject to any engineering change during serial life
Issue and manage the chargebacks in QSS and confirm credit with plant controller
Review and approve corrective action from suppliers for nonconforming product (8D)
Has the authority to quarantine incoming nonconforming goods in the inventory or being used on production line. Issue and monitor Quality Claims to suppliers (QSS)
Manage and monitor the quarantine area and the system application (SAP)
Authorizes temporary quality wall implementation or third-party sorting in order to protect the customer (internal/external)
Request correcting supplied product in case of product requirement is not met (fit, form, function)
Reporting to upper management/leadership on supplied product issues.
Escalation must be reported immediately to Plant Quality Manager upon observance of S&R non-compliance
Has the authorization to approve purchases with corporate credit card
The ideal candidate
To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:

Able to collect, analyze, and present facts and data (MS Office, Minitab, etc.)

Proven Automotive industry quality experience and understanding of supply chain
Education / Experience:
Minimum education level: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management or technician with equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Minimum 3 years related experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive industry preferred)
Experience with various Quality system methodologies: 8D, 3 Legs and 5 Why´s, LEAN manufacturing, Pareto analysis and statistical studies
Certified in Automotive requirements (ISO 9001/ IATF 16949, VDA, etc.) preferred
Certified in all AIAG/VDA Core Tools (PPAP, MSA, FMEA, APQP, SPC) preferred
Experienced with OEM customer specific requirements / standards
