Subsystems Stress Analysis Engineer - IFG - Level 3

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in seeking a full-time Stress Analysis Engineer for the Integrated Fighter Group in Fort Worth, Texas.

What You Will Be Doing

A successful candidate will use their technical experience to develop innovative solutions to highly complex technical problems. Responsibilities for this position may include:

• Support F-16 Production/Sustainment and F-22 Sustainment Material Review Board (MRB) repairs to ensure discrepant parts or assemblies meet required strength standards.
• Perform stress analysis on metallic and composite materials, including sizing of detail parts and assessing the strength of primary and secondary aircraft structures and systems.
• Certify new and existing designs by performing strength analysis, releasing drawings, and preparing analysis reports.
• Evaluate and compare structural efficiency and weight for different structural arrangements and concepts through analysis and trade studies.
• Provide input for structural tests, including test requirements, loads, and predicted results.
• This position will call upon your expertise in Subsystems Installation Analysis to add systems to the aircraft as well as your experience with Production and Fleet support to correct manufacturing and in-use issues.
• Collaborate in the design, development, and maturation of subsystems placement and routing within the aircraft.
• Use classical and digital streaming analysis methods, including finite element analysis, to calculate stresses, deflections, and interface loads on subsystems and supporting hardware.
• Assess incoming work requirements to determine schedules and manpower needs.
• Determine work assignments for team members and review progress.
• Provide expert advice in best practices for subsystems to enable efficiencies in the manufacture of legacy platforms as well as enabling development programs.
