Sourcing and Procurement Manager
About the Role: As a Sourcing and Procurement Manager, you will lead, manage, and optimize the strategic sourcing and supplier management processes for direct materials. Your role will involve managing strategic relationships with existing suppliers, identifying and qualifying new suppliers, improving supplier quality and service, and driving material cost productivity. You will be a key member of the business leadership team, providing updates on supply issues, risks, performance against budget, and future commodity pricing forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Commodity Strategies (10%): Create comprehensive strategies for assigned commodities, addressing quality, delivery, cost, inventory, sustainability, and new product development goals while understanding market risks and solutions to guarantee supply continuity.
- Supplier Capacity Management (10%): Assess supplier capacity, ensure their ability to meet demand plans, and drive actions to achieve service level goals.
- Cost Analysis & Negotiations (20%): Analyze current cost/spend for commodities, identify cost reduction opportunities, generate RFQs, lead negotiations, manage supplier transitions, and collaborate with engineering on VA/VE projects to achieve annual cost savings.
- Contract Management (20%): Negotiate, develop, and maintain favorable purchasing contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and supplier stocking agreements for assigned commodities.
- Supplier Relationship Management (20%): Oversee supplier relationships to maximize value in terms of price, quality, service, and reliability. Collaborate with suppliers and use lean tools to reduce lead times and improve performance.
- Team Collaboration (10%): Foster a team environment that develops strong business and professional relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Market Intelligence (10%): Gather and maintain industry and market intelligence related to key direct materials. Prepare reports and presentations to support business reviews and other meetings.
- Crisis Management (10%): Manage issues affected by market conditions and crises. Provide leadership and communication to mitigate risks.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in engineering, chemistry, business, supply chain, or related field. MBA or Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years in a global industrial manufacturing environment with extensive knowledge in raw material sourcing, procurement processes, and best practices.
- Minimum 3-5 years in procurement of chemicals with an understanding of regulations.
- Skills:
- Strategic thinking and ability to lead multifunctional project teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in negotiation, change management, and influencing skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, summarize, and make recommendations.
- Highly collaborative and team-oriented.
- Ethical behavior and high levels of integrity.
- Knowledge of VA/VE and cost reduction methods.
- Familiarity with MRP, Rough Cut Capacity Planning, and S&OP processes is a plus.
- Six Sigma/DMAIC/Lean knowledge and/or application is a plus.
- Ability to work cross-culturally with colleagues and suppliers worldwide.
