Software QA Analyst - Intermediate & Associate

Job Description

Citizens is pleased to offer this opportunity in our Jacksonville, FL office; therefore, the selected candidate must live within a commutable distance (approximately 50 miles) to Citizens Jacksonville office. Visa sponsorship is NOT being offered for this position at this time.

Job Duties

Models ethical behavior and executes job responsibilities in accordance with Citizens core values, ethics, and information protection policies.

Associate:

  • For low to medium complex requirements, determines how to apply guidelines by independently determining how to test the requirements, developing the quality test cases, and executing quality test cases with adequate test coverage.
  • Work closely with Developers and Business Analysts/ Product Owners to understand the requirements by taking part in requirements grooming sessions, asking questions, and seeking clarifications as needed. Responsible for ensuring scope is appropriately covered.
  • Work closely with agile team members in delivering quality software by identifying quality issues/defects, performing analyses/research, developing recommendations or solutions, and collaborating with Developers, Business Analysts/ Product Owners to track the issues to closure.
  • Capture Test results and demo the functionality to project teams at appropriate forums.


Intermediate:

  • Create, modify and execute manual functional test cases and test plans for applications with high quality as per requirement/functional specifications.
  • Seek requirement clarifications to adequately cover test conditions.
  • Clearly document bugs or defects with relevant information. Collaborate with Dev and other team members in retesting and defect closure.
  • Provide clear and concise status of assigned tasks for test reports covering the results of testing activities.
  • Assist in creating/maintaining test data in test environments to satisfy the test conditions.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Associate

  • Strong knowledge of testing concepts, processes and various artefacts a tester needs to develop during different phases of SDLC and Testing Life Cycle (TLC)
  • Good knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Good Interpersonal skills, Communication (Verbal and Written) skills and technical documentation skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with a great desire to learn and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well within an agile team, building relationships with Developers, Testers, Business
  • Analysts and Product Owners to collaborate and deliver working, valuable software.
  • Ability to prioritize work and multitask when needed
  • Basic understanding of Database/SQL concepts


Intermediate

  • Knowledge of Waterfall and Agile software delivery framework.
  • Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within a cross functional team building relationships in order to collaborate and deliver working software.
  • Service-oriented, self-motivated, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities.


Preferred Skills And Abilities

  • Experience in Agile and Lean development methodologies including Scrum, XP, and Kanban.
  • Knowledge of test management tools like HP ALM
  • Knowledge in Test automation using UI or API Testing tools like SOAP UI.
  • Knowledge of Automation or Performance QA tools like QTP, Load Runner
  • Knowledge of database concepts including creating, modifying and executing SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance industry.


Relevant Experience/Education

Associate:

  • 1 or more years of experience working in software engineering/testing environment
  • High School Diploma | GED (required)
  • Associate/Technical Degree OR 2 years relevant experience, OR a combination of both college and experience equivalent to 2 years


Intermediate:

  • 4 or more years of experience in enterprise-level software testing with web-based applications in a large scale, relational database environment, to include 2 or more years experience in implementing and using a variety of quality assurance methodologies.
  • High School Diploma | GED (required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree OR 3 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 3 years.

This is an onsite position that will require in-office presence Monday - Friday and the selected candidate must live within a commutable distance (approximately 50 miles) to our Jacksonville, Florida office.
