About the Position:
Under the direction of the Office Chief of Encroachment and Outdoor Advertising Permits, a Supervising Transportation Engineer (Supervisor), the incumbent, a Senior Transportation Engineer, serves as a functional manager of the Encroachment Permits (EP) Branch. Activities focus on developing and implementing the statewide Caltrans’ EP Program.
As the Branch Chief, the incumbent oversees transportation engineers in developing statewide policies and procedures; establishing resources allocation, monitoring production, and addressing various issues for the EP Program. The incumbent also provides functional direction and engineering consultation to district staff on issues related to the Caltrans' policies and procedures associated with the issuance of encroachment permits, permit inspections, and the stormwater program.
