Role Overview:

Have a passion for Audio or Music? Bose Professional has an exciting opportunity to join our System Validation Engineering Team as a System Validation Engineer (SVE)! The SVE team supports all new product development as well as continuing engineering work.

The Senior System Validation Engineer manages the coordination of product verification and validation activities with product development teams. The SVE will act as the principal technical representative for the validation activities, actively participating in multiple projects at a time. The primary mission/goal is to ensure that products are validated and certified to worldwide legal standards, and Bose Professional’s internal requirements prior to product shipment. This includes the creation and management of early product risk assessments and responsibility for creating and maintaining the validation plan.

This Senior System Validation Engineer is also responsible for reviewing this plan with the development teams and obtaining their agreement, as well as coordinating the execution of the validation plan across the Bose Professional Compliance functions. The SVE is the subject matter expert responsible to define the environmental and mechanical test requirements of the program and is expected to work with other disciplines within compliance to ensure that their testing and certification plans are also defined and managed. These disciplines include, but are not limited to EMC, Safety Compliance, International Certifications, Energy Efficiency and ECO Compliance (RoHS/REACH).

A successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills to ensure that global project team members are kept informed of testing status in a timely manner. Strong system engineering technical skills are required in the analysis of test results, and for understanding the possible impact of changes of a design across all the development disciplines. This position may require developing new test requirements and procedures as new technologies are incorporated into products and as usage profiles expand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This individual must possess an overall knowledge of Safety, EMC and Environmental & Mechanical testing processes and procedures.
  • Strong technical project management and scheduling skills are required. Background in Reliability Engineering a plus.
  • Candidates must demonstrate familiarity with all aspects and phases of engineering product development.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the fundamentals of different manufacturing techniques.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong global team participation skills
  • Must have experience using reverse engineering techniques to accomplish failure analysis on products.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with testing Wireless Products (Bluetooth, WiFi), Li-Ion Batteries, Audio Transducers, and Audio Precision is preferred
  • Experience in product reliability design methodologies is preferred
  • Experience with the following software is also preferred: MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint, JIRA
  • Working knowledge of PTC CodeBeamer is preferred
  • 8 - 15 years’ experience with commensurate skills in managing the testing and/or validation of consumer/professional products
  • A passion for Audio/Music and/or experience in the audio industry is strongly desired

Education:

  • BSEE or MSEE with a minimum of 10 years’ related experience in validation or related reliability testing field

Travel:

  • Occasional travel, domestic and international (less than 10%)

Reports to: System Validation Manager located in the US

Time Type: Full-time

Location: This is a hybrid role working 3-days a week onsite in Framingham, MA
