About the Role:
As a Senior System Engineer, you will provide the highest level of support for our clients, including overseeing escalated tickets and collaborating with various teams. You will also design and implement comprehensive solutions for our clients, focusing on networking, Azure infrastructure, server building, and advanced troubleshooting.
Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee escalated support from Level 2 and 3 technicians in a professional and timely manner.
Provide IT support for technical issues involving Microsoft’s core business applications and operating systems, including Windows server operating systems and roles, Microsoft 365’s full suite, and networking systems.
Serve as a liaison with department leaders to gather required IT information for network evaluations.
Evaluate current network infrastructure and propose improvements.
Design and improve servers and workstations for efficiency and longevity.
Manage installation and configuration of systems as per custom recommendations.
Create written policy manuals for system configurations, deployment methods, and maintenance.
Provide ongoing training to technicians.
Maintain and review system documentation.
Conduct assessments and audits to identify issues and recommend solutions.
Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and provide strategic IT solutions.
Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of IT strategies and best practices.
Required Technical Skills:
Server Management: Proficiency with Server 2019/2022.
Cloud Services: Expertise in Azure and AZ-104: Microsoft Azure Administrator.
Email and Collaboration: Strong knowledge of Exchange/Office 365, OneDrive, SharePoint.
Virtualization: Experience with VMware or Hyper-V, AVD.
Hardware: Experience with routers, switches, and access points.
Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows 10/11.
Directory Services: Expertise in Azure AD and Active Directory.
Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) and automation tools.
Security Best Practices: Knowledge of security best practices.
Job Qualifications and Certifications:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an MSP environment or similar IT organization.
Minimum 5 years’ experience with Windows Server 2016 and 2019 Operating Systems.
Minimum 5 years’ experience working with server hardware, RAID, Clusters, Active Directory, DNS, and Office365.
Minimum 3 years’ experience with Azure.
MCSA certification is a plus.
