Senior Purchasing Manager (HYBRID)

Swisslog Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing team in Americas. This hybrid role will be based at one of our three offices - Atlanta, GA, Newport News, VA or Mason. OH

Responsibilities

• Manage the purchasing volume for Swisslog Americas with main responsibility to direct materials (mechanical and electrical sub-systems, project related services)
• Lead the local purchasing team
• Ensure and develop the supply base
• Evaluate suppliers and organize supplier audits to ensure the needed supplier performance
• Realize best price / performance ratio: to achieve competitive pricing in combination with low risk (reducing the risks for non-supply resp. financial losses; reducing currency risks; reducing the risks for non-performance)
• To negotiate and contract suppliers
• To support the global purchasing team in relation to suppliers based in Americas
  
  

Essential

Application Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in related field
• Practical experience in Purchasing and Contract Administration
• 5+ years industrial experience as a Purchaser on large scale complex projects
• Sound application knowledge of industrial material handling and warehouse systems (ASRS, AGVs, conveyors, monorail, etc.).
• Knowledge of Contract Law
• Effective utilization of written and verbal communications skills.
• Possess excellent word processing and spreadsheet skills.
• Regular travel to Supplier sites within NA and abroad may be required.

• Ability to read, interpret, and negotiate contracts.
• Practical experience in Purchasing and Contract negotiations.
• Practical experience using SAP
• Business Law or Paralegal background
