Senior project manager (Project finance and M&A expert) - Boston, MA USA

You will be joining a Boston-based growing team of 10 professionals (“giraffes”) and will work in close collaboration with fellow giraffes in Boston and offices around the world on international energy transition projects

As a senior member of our advisory deal team, you will be right in the middle of all the action. From originating and working on impactful transactions to leading missions with autonomy, you will be accountable for the smooth execution of advisory missions relating to financial structuring, raising debt or leading M&A transactions. You will be the primary point of contact for prospects, clients, other stakeholders and the rest of the team. The scope of this role will include:

  • Originating financial advisory missions in the energy transition, by utilizing and expanding your existing business network in the US and building upon our existing relationships
  • Being innovative and entrepreneurial in finding new business opportunities in the US
  • Taking responsibility for advisory missions e.g. relating to financial structuring, raising required debt or supporting M&A equity finance transactions
  • Leading the interactions with clients, banks and other project stakeholders
  • Supervising financial analysts on the development and management of financial models and cash flow valuations for renewable energy projects
  • Overseeing due diligence processes including work prepared by other advisors
  • Gathering of market intelligence on sectors of interest to the company such as electricity markets, debt markets or venture capital markets and emerging sectors of the energy transition
  • The role requires US securities licensing – SIE, Series 79, Series 82, Series 63, Series 24 – which will be sponsored by Green Giraffe’s broker dealer affiliate
  • The successful candidate will become a registered principal of the our US broker dealer
  • Being active in sharing knowledge, building networks and lead business development
  • Active participation in an entrepreneurial, international and dynamic team focused on making projects happen and going the extra mile for the client


We are looking for someone with a Master's or similar degree, preferably in Finance or Engineering, having 10+years of relevant work experience and a demonstrated interest in the energy transition

In addition, the candidate should demonstrate:

  • Leadership in the energy transition industry with a breadth of relationships in the industry
  • Excellent analytical skills and an ability to learn quickly
  • A strong understanding and mastering of financial concepts and products
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas with ease and simplicity
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Initiative, ownership and accountability for allocated tasks
  • The ability to work in cross border teams with a willingness to travel abroad
  • Empathy and willingness to understand the needs and aspirations of relevant stakeholders
  • An additional language (Portuguese, French, German, Dutch, Chinese or Japanese) would be a great plus


Package and application

This job is to be filled on a permanent contract basis and full-time along with a competitive salary ranging from $185,000 to $250,000 annually, complemented by a potential bonus of up to 75% to 85%. A competitive compensation package including various benefits such as public transport, company sponsored 401k plan, lunch vouchers, flexible work (home office) is offered. The candidate can expect opportunities to travel to other offices and to participate in regular team building activities. Additionally, the candidate will be given the opportunity to grow, and take responsibility in a dynamic renewables market environment.
