Overview

The Sr. Manager Strategic Sourcing Center of Excellence (COE) will be responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining the third-party risk management (TPRM) and supplier relationship management (SRM) programs for the Alnylam Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) organization. The Sr. Manager Sourcing will be a key member of the GSS Center of Excellence team with broad responsibility to create and implement best-in-class sourcing practices in a highly dynamic and growing environment. This role will lead the new TPRM and SRM business processes including creating and maintaining the operating model, processes, and tools.

This position is hybrid and will be primarily located in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities

The role will be responsible for the implementation and management of all processes and tools including the following:

  • Global Strategic Sourcing TPRM and SRM Processes: Develop, implement, and manage processes and tools supporting third party risk management and supplier relationship management programs.
  • Programs, Policies and Guidelines: Develop and implement key policies, operational guidelines, and programs for the risk management and supplier relationship management programs.
  • Systems and AI: Develop and maintain third party risk management and SRM systems. This role will also be tasked with leveraging Artificial Intelligence innovations to implement continual process improvements.
  • Development Programs: Develop and implement training programs for the GSS organization and broader company in support of TPRM and SRM programs.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Design, implement and maintain a robust metrics program to manage performance.
  • External Capabilities: Manage key externally provided sourcing capabilities/services including supplier risk monitoring and other data sources as needed.
  • Relationship-building: The role requires building strong relationships with business partners including Financial Planning and Analysis, Finance Operations, Legal, Compliance, Human Resources, and other peers within the GSS organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in a technical discipline preferred
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MS) desired.
  • 5+ years of professional experience, 3 of those years in a leadership role in large or medium-sized professional procurement/sourcing organizations with at least 1 year preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry
  • 1+ years of leadership experience implementing and managing best in class procurement/sourcing processes.
  • Advanced-level skills in the following key competencies: communications, project management, relationship management, influencing negotiation, financial acumen, analytical skills, aptitude for technology, results focus, professionalism, and success in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience successfully implementing process transformations.
  • A track record of increasing savings delivery to world-class levels in multiple environments.
  • Professional procurement certification (CPSM, MCIPS, Etc.) desired.
  • Experience working in a highly entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and lean environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and influencing skills. Ability to interact with individuals at all levels internally and externally.
