Compensation: $130,000-$140,000

Senior Linux Systems Administrator:

Inceed has partnered with a thriving company in the medical sciences industry to help find a skilled Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join their team!

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our client's dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, managing, and optimizing our Linux-based systems and servers, ensuring their reliability, performance, and security. This role demands a deep understanding of Linux operating systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• System Administration:
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and systems.
• Manage system performance, tuning, and capacity planning.
• Monitor system activity, resource utilization, and network traffic to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Security Management:
• Implement and maintain security policies and procedures.
• Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security infrastructure.
• Automation and Scripting:
• Develop and maintain scripts for system automation and process improvements.
• Utilize tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for configuration management and automation tasks.
• Backup and Recovery:
• Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery plans.
• Ensure data integrity and availability through regular backups and testing of recovery procedures.
• Support and Troubleshooting:
• Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for Linux-based systems and applications.
• Collaborate with other IT staff to resolve complex issues and improve overall system performance.
• Documentation and Compliance:
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentoring and Training:
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior systems administrators and other IT staff.
• Conduct training sessions on best practices, new technologies, and system administration techniques.
  

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 6 years of professional hands on experience as a Linux or similar Systems Administrator
• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems, system architecture, and networking.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, or Docker.
• Understanding of security best practices and tools (SELinux, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
  
  

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Prior Red Hat administration experience is highly preferred.
• Proven professional experience as a Senior Systems Administrator or even team lead would be desirable.

• This position is NOT fully remote.
