Senior Group Sales Manager - $80,000 - $100,000/year

The Senior Group Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting, booking and growing group business. This role requires becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her market segments. He/she is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact hotel revenues, including all existing and new group accounts.

Education & Experience

  • College course work in related field helpful.
  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be skilled in Windows, spreadsheets and word processing.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience in hotel group sales
  • Proficiency in Amadeus Delphi

Physical Requirements

  • Long hours sometimes required.

  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Comply with Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Fundamental Requirements

  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Reservations/Guest Svs, Catering and Conference Services and F&B
  • Meet or exceed set goals & follow-up on leads
  • Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program
  • Evaluate market trends
  • Regularly contact existing accounts and develop networking opportunities
  • Invite clients to the hotel for entertainment, lunches, tours and site inspections
  • Assist in implementing special promotions
  • Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with client
  • Use sales management system to generate reports, entering business, blocking space and building accounts
  • Meet and greet onsite contacts
  • Review meeting planner evaluations with the DOSM to ensure that issues receive follow-up
