Senior Engineer, IT Infrastructure, Network & Operations

Job Summary

The position requires significant knowledge of best practices that fit the Shiseido IT organization, specifically in the infrastructure and system admin space. The individual collaborates closely with the IT organization to provide operations support, monitoring, troubleshooting and upgrades to meet overall business IT infrastructure needs. This qualified candidate will develop, document and monitor systems, the operational standards and procedures for the system. The individual will review, maintain, and improve a stable server & storage environments across the region. The individual will require exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced IT environment. They will need to have a flexible schedule (including nights, weekends, and holidays). The qualified candidate will assist with the architecture roadmap for regional infrastructure services and serve as a technical lead for escalation of advanced incidents, problems and change management. The candidate will understand the nature of Shiseido’s ecommerce business and its perpetual evolution, and they are committed to delivering results for our customers and staying on the edge of current technologies. The candidate will coordinate operations within the infrastructure team, by working with the leadership team to assign resources for incoming BAU activities and assist in resource management for projects they are assigned involvement in; activities to include but not limited to performing appropriate paperwork within Shiseido systems, coordinating with vendors, and working with business teams to align personal and availability.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations including installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft and Linux systems.
  • Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Work closely with team members to resolve technical issues, as well as perform routine tasks such as monitoring, server management, active directory administration, software installation, imaging, etc.
  • Perform configuration and management in Shiseido cloud environments; Azure Stack HCI, Azure Cloud, OCI, and AWS.
  • Assist with the forecasting and managing of server technologies and growth, coordinate and manage client/server disaster recovery planning.
  • Manage patch and security changes per policy and pro-actively monitor the environment for patch compliance.
  • Participate in long- and short-range technology planning.
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, operating procedures, and service records relating to the infrastructure and software.
  • Troubleshoot Windows/Linux networks, storage, application, and hyper-converged platforms.
  • Experience working with an external managed service provider.
  • Participate in technical planning meetings.
  • Coordinate incoming/existing tasks as required to unify resources for the specified task/operation.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT or IS or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Windows and Linux System Administration, preferably in an Enterprise environment, supporting large-scale servers.
  • Working knowledge of O365 platform.
  • Working knowledge of Azure Stack HCI and/or Hyper-V Systems.
  • Understanding of Privilege Access Management and administration.
  • Ability to manage Cloud operations, Azure / OCI / AWS.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating-system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Strong Windows and Linux knowledge, analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding on managing & configuring Cisco / Meraki equipmen.
  • Ability to establish and maintain security and integrity controls by planning, testing, and performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, monitor critical systems.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to take corrective actions prior to failures.
  • Ability to be a team player, including coordinating and collaborating across multiple teams and vendors to achieve common goals for success.
  • Ability to learn, transfer knowledge, and train staff in new technologies.
