What You Will Do
As an Electrochemical Engineer, you will focus on integrated cell and stack level testing supporting scale-up of Electra’s technology and product development. Most of your time will be in the lab prototyping, assembling, testing, and analyzing Electra’s novel electrochemical systems. In this role you will:
Assemble novel electrochemical components and cells.
Design experimental test campaigns and write and execute tests plans.
Screen materials and cell components to evaluate their performance.
Critically analyze, interpret, and communicate test findings to the broader Electra team.
Lead project teams and train junior team members.
Provide technical insight to other teams and leaders as an electrochemical subject matter expert.
Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and outside agencies as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
What We Need You To Bring To The Team
A PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, physics, or related field AND 1 year of relevant experience; a Master’s degree in a related field AND 3 years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience.
Hands-on experience in an experimental role working with electrochemical cells such as fuel cells, electrolyzers, batteries, and/or flow batteries.
Fundamental engineering knowledge of electrochemistry, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat & mass transfer, chemical kinetics, and materials.
Familiarity with electrochemical characterization techniques including potentiometry, cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, and instrumentation.
Experience analyzing experimental data, reaching conclusions, and effectively communicating results.
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Compensation
The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $100,000- $130,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
