Scope:
The Sr. Director Sales - Retail will lead the Heartland Food Products Commercial Sales teams strategies related to customer/channel performance vs. plan that include the Grocery channel. This role will be charged with delivering on customer and channel scorecard metrics. It will also be responsible for Customer Business Manager leadership and development, as well as champion HFPG culture & values through their team.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Own partnership with current and developing customer objectives to drive growth and share – winning through fundamental excellence Delivers growth and share through core-item expansion and select innovation for customer and a streamline go-to-market approach for developing customers
Execute against plan by serving as the “face of HFPG” for all customer interactions
Develop customer growth pipeline
Understand divisional needs / priorities and communicate those with team, helping prioritize how to execute on category priorities across customers in line with plans
Provide monthly sales, category and forecast updates keeping the team abreast of material changes in the business
Primary interface with HFPG senior leadership on customer development, revenue delivery and strategic engagement
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of sales experience managing or equivalent experience managing a team of sales professionals
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field
Knowledge of the industry and related industry key players, vendors and people
The ability to travel to customer appointments, and industry events (50% of time)
Demonstrated track record of business development results
Ability to lead, manage and develop sales/business development teams
Possess strategic thinking, leadership, teamwork and analytical skills
Strong business and project management skills, creativity and ingenuity in developing successful strategies, and demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
Advanced organization, prioritization and time management skills
Knowledge of business and management principles
Extensive knowledge of sales and marketing strategies, principles and practices
Strong analytical skills and mathematical ability
Intermediate or higher computer skills, with emphasis on MS Office suite
Ability to manage the work of direct reports and those in other department to achieve goals
Advanced negotiating and influencing skills • Expert at managing conflict and ambiguous situations
This role is on site at our Carmel, Indiana corporate headquarters. It is not a remote or hybrid role
