Senior Director of Product Development

Summary

As the Senior Director, Product Development, you will advance APCO’s product portfolio vison and strategy. You will lead short- and long-range product planning for the business, partnering with business channel leaders to develop solutions, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to optimize operational and product launch execution.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Manage APCO’s product portfolio strategy, building a long-term product plan to meet needs of target customer segments, while finding opportunities to consolidate the array of products we offer.
• Communicate and collaborate with internal and external partners to formulate strategies for building innovative solutions, including interface with the company’s IT resources to ensure our systems can adequately support our future product needs.
• Use market data, product metrics, and other data sources to adjust product strategy and identify new product opportunities.
• Quantify product opportunities, ensure alignment with business objectives, and relate product capabilities to measurable value.
• Be responsible for the development and implementation of a process for product feedback from internal and external partners and customers in order to shape future product requirements.
• Develop a deep understanding of APCO competitors. Leverage existing competitive analysis for APCO’s competitors and guide future assessments to identify areas of advantage and risk.
• Participate in price strategy development considering competitive landscape and APCO pricing power.
• Aid in development of sales tools and training to drive desired sales team and dealer behavior.
  
  

Education And Experience

• BA degree required (preferably Marketing or Business).
• Minimum of 7 years product management experience preferred.
• Automotive industry experience strongly preferred.
  
  

Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Product management experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and external vendors to execute marketing initiatives.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks that vary in complexity and urgency.
• Ability to develop meaningful and impactful relationships throughout all layers of an organization.
  
  

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type and look at a computer screen for long periods of the day. The employee must be able to sit for long periods of time.
