As the Senior Director, Global Operational Purchasing COE (Center of Excellence), you will work on various proactive and reactive supply continuity projects supporting plants, product transitions, and source changes. You will have a leadership role over the process, tools, and methods that our operational purchasing professionals utilize within our business units and sites. You will lead a team of globally located Supplier Development Engineers with a sole focus on improving supplier performance. This position reports to the CPO and is responsible for orchestrating our supplier relationship management process. A very strong relationship with supply chain planning and logistics is imperative for leading cross-functionally and delivering sustained results. A strong Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence background is a firm requirement for this role.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Operational Excellence: Improve Supplier Safety, Quality and Delivery Metrics using established methodologies in continuous improvement/Lean/Six Sigma
  • Team effectiveness and talent management: Attracts, equips, develops, retains, and leads a (solid and dotted line) team of ethical purchasing and supplier quality professionals to deliver top in class results.
  • Reactive problem-solving: Upon discovery, capacity validation and adjustment related to manufacturing plans and/or quality/service issues, e.g., parts expediting, shift suppliers, demand smoothing. Orchestrates effective internal and external executive escalations and communications.
  • Project/change/system management, e.g., engineering/supplier change requests that impact the bill of materials and pricing. Collaborates with business unit leadership and operations teams to achieve cost, performance, and quality targets
  • Proactive vendor performance management: Maintains a systematic, analytical, and results-based method for monitoring supplier's performance: delivery, quality and flexibility. Generates quarterly supplier and compliance scorecards/reports in relevant region, in close collaboration with strategic sourcing
  • Mitigate Business Risk: Work with Category Managers to design lower risk supply network
  • PPAP: Lead PPAP process across all business units



Qualifications and Skills:


  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferred Major: Business, Science, or Engineering).
  • Minimum ten years of experience in supply chain or procurement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in leading cross-functional and highly matrixed teams to implement supplier change and/or cost savings initiatives across a large, complex supply base and geographically diverse manufacturing locations.
  • Strong operations background—having led kaizen events, value stream mapping and possess command of structured problem solving
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints and understanding basic engineering documents.
  • Knowledge of commodities, materials, categories, and products being purchased.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate both verbally and in written form.
  • Experience with being highly analytical to solve complex problems using standard tools like excel, power-BI, Tableau / Preferred Strategies suite, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Able to forge internal customer/ external supplier relationships and situational awareness with all levels of management.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to internally and externally dynamic environments.
  • Ability to comply with existing/quickly adapt to new processes within the organization.
