Security Technician

Convergint is looking for a qualified full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Security Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will install, service and support existing customers by responding to small project requests, service calls and carrying out Customer Support Programs. As a Security Technician, you are a part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

What You’ll Need

• Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
• Advanced technical skills and experience related to electronic security and video systems.
• Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• Proficient construction skills and understanding of system plans.
• Excellent understanding of blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support).
• Very familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously.
• Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• To be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.
• Previous construction experience including some level of electrical or a low voltage background.
• Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: electronic/electrical, fire alarm & life safety, data-cable installation and/or building automation.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Experience: 3-5 years, trade school or equivalent experience. Experience installing, servicing, integrating, and programming access control systems, CCTV systems, and intrusion systems.

• CCTV experience: Milestone / Genetec
• Access Control experience: AMAG / Lenel / Genetec / Software House - CCURE / S2
• Intrusion experience: DMP / Bosch
