Refine and/or customize models to meet client requests.
Interface directly with clients and internal customers to understand the needs and deliverables, and define appropriate strategies that will achieve the scientific goals
Act as a role model to junior colleagues by demonstrating effective communication and project management
Study Director role and responsibility according to SOPs of studies with basic complexity
Generates study protocols, study amendments and study timelines;
Generates IACUC protocols, IACUC amendments, IBCs and may serve as the SD on IACUC protocols;
May participates in the proposal management and budgetary process;
May orders materials and supplies as required for projects;
Generates study calendars (and matrices if applicable);
Directs study performance including the oversight of primary technicians and the QC of data;
Reviews, interprets and presents data with assistance from senior scientific staff as applicable for assigned studies;
Generates Data Submissions, Final Reports and/or Summary Reports with assistance from senior scientific staff;
Provides technical and scientific guidance to the technical and research staff; may assist in training of personnel;
Performs necessary technical procedures to keep skills current;
Proficient in general eye anatomy and physiology as well as multiple disease indications for the eye;
Able to perform ocular exams in rodents, rabbits, and NHP as well as complex ocular routes of administration
May present posters and other data in conferences and/or meetings, which includes occasional travel
May review/edit company guidelines and SOPs.
May serve as a contributing member of the IACUC
Comprehends procedures and performs tasks according to company policies and SOPs
Complies with all regulatory guidelines, occupational health as well as health and safety programs, in accordance with company policies and procedures
Performs other duties as required
