POSITION SCOPE

The Field Sales Manager position is a key resource within the Country Malt Group Sales and Marketing Team. This position is integral in selling products both remotely and in person, and providing marketing support by engaging with breweries, distilleries, homebrew stores, wineries, and other specialty stores and manufactures out in the market. The Field Sales Manager will be the primary owner for accounts within an assigned division, and work closely with the Territory Managers & Marketing Team to grow revenue and market share while promoting and educating the market on the Country Malt Group portfolio. This position will report to the Director of Commercial Sales. This role is to support the south division including NV, UT, WY, CO, NE, KS, MO, NM, TX, OK, AR, LA, MS, AL, TN, GA, FL, SC, NC, WV, KY, IN, OH, MI and may reside in any of those areas.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate new and strengthen existing customer relationships through regular communication and in person visits.
  • Act on new customer prospects through lead follow-up, communications and customer and prospect visits.
  • Develop new opportunities and drive sales by identifying customer needs & creating and executing strategic plans in a competitive market.
  • Follow up on all inquiries, problems/solutions, leads, and opportunities.
  • Monitor and gather intel on competitor strengths, weaknesses, behaviors, and strategy. Act upon this knowledge to the benefit of Country Malt Group.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with internal resources including Sales and Marketing team members plus administrative, operational, technical and leadership teams.
  • Assist Credit Manager(s) to negotiate past due payments and negotiate settlements as necessary; communicate intel regarding financial health of customers.
  • Prepare reoccurring/on-demand reports as assigned and submit on a timely basis.
  • Execute and manage customer sales contracts within all applicable systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of geographical locations and transit lines as it relates to our company facilities and customers locations.
  • Monitor openings, closings, changes of ownership and changes of purchasing decision-makers in assigned division.
  • Plan and organize brand presence at industry events such as sponsored guild meetings, tradeshows, and festivals while liaising with Sales and Marketing Team members.
  • Organize and execute tactical in person technical presentations and speaking engagement to bolster CMG brand and products.
  • Strategize on site customer visits to meet sales targets and attain maximum ROI.
  • Attendance of industry events to support the showcasing of our brands and services.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to discover ways to increase brand presence and engagement in the market and position CMG as experts and resources in the industry.
  • Prepare and present trip reports for each trip as needed, as well as manage and track personal travel expenses/budget.
  • Other duties as assigned to support our sales and marketing departments and general account-development initiatives.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to travel more than 50% within US and Canada.
  • Willingness and availability to work unconventional hours, including but not limited to overnight stays and weekends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Background and/or technical knowledge of the brewing or distilling segments.
  • Ability to communicate and present in public forums effectively.
  • Ability to manage time and tasks proactively and effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to embrace change in a growing industry and business environment.
  • Valid driver's license required and ability to travel with personal vehicle when required.
  • Passion for the Craft Beverage industry is a must!
  • Post-secondary education in relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales Support or other relevant professional position within a Brewery, Distillery, or Homebrew.
  • Residency in sales division is preferred.
  • Demonstrated involvement in Brewing, Distilling, Marketing, and/or Malting industries is preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Dynamics and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems is preferred.
  • Experience in event coordination/planning and public speaking preferred.
  • Experience establishing, monitoring, and achieving individual and team goals.

Compensation

Salary $50,758.31 - $76,137.46 per year

Newly hired incumbents are placed on the salary scale based on their education, training/skill, and experience, as applicable.
