In this newly created role, you will have the chance to establish and lead the risk management function within our organization. We are looking for a proactive and strategic thinker who can identify potential risks, develop appropriate risk management strategies, and help us navigate the complexities of risk in our business operations. Responsibilities:
Establish the risk management framework and processes tailored to our company's unique needs and objectives
Manages all phases of the claims process from intake and investigation through litigation, settlement, and/or trial, and consults and/or participates in negotiations, conferences and mediations with adjusting companies, outside legal counsel, staff, claimants, and other involved parties
Manages the workers' compensation and incident reporting program and processes, assesses, and reports claims to carriers as appropriate
Investigates, resolves, and responds to all property and liability claims under the direction of the President, CFO and other Executives
Develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified risks effectively and minimize their impact on the organization
Implement risk management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Provide regular reports and updates to senior management and Executives on the company's risk profile, key risk exposures, and mitigation efforts
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory developments that may impact the company's risk profile
Foster a culture of risk awareness and accountability throughout the organization through training, communication, and engagement initiatives
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, risk management, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CRM, ARM, PRM) is a plus
5 years of proven experience in risk management roles, preferably in a similar industry or environment
Strong understanding of risk management principles, methodologies, and best practices
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify, assess, and prioritize risks effectively
Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Proficiency in risk management software and tools is preferred
High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct
Flexible and adaptable with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
