Overview: As a Risk Manager, you will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with our investment portfolio. You will work closely with investment teams, portfolio companies, and external stakeholders to implement risk management strategies, ensuring the protection of investments and adherence to regulatory requirements. Roles And Responsibilities

  • Risk Assessment and Identification:
    • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for potential investments and existing portfolio companies, evaluating financial, operational, market, and regulatory risks.
    • Identify emerging risks and trends within the venture capital landscape, staying abreast of industry developments and best practices.
  • Risk Mitigation Strategies:
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and frameworks to minimize exposure and safeguard investments.
    • Collaborate with investment teams and portfolio company management to address identified risks and implement proactive risk management measures.
  • Due Diligence and Compliance:
    • Lead and coordinate due diligence processes, focusing on risk-related considerations such as legal, regulatory, and operational risks.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies throughout the investment lifecycle.
  • Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor and analyze key risk indicators, performance metrics, and compliance with risk management frameworks across the investment portfolio.
    • Prepare regular risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior management, investors, and stakeholders.
  • Crisis Management and Contingency Planning:
    • Develop contingency plans and crisis management protocols to address potential risk scenarios and ensure business continuity.
    • Provide guidance and support during crisis situations, collaborating with internal teams and external partners as needed.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
    • Serve as a trusted advisor on risk-related matters, providing timely insights and recommendations to senior management, investment committees, and board members.
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration with portfolio company management teams, external advisors, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s degree/MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management, preferably within venture capital, private equity, or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of identifying and mitigating risks in investment environments, with a focus on operational excellence and strategic risk management.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse stakeholder groups.
