About the Team:
Our Trust & Safety team's commitment is to keep our online community safe. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

As a Risk Analyst in Trust & Safety, you will become our eyes and ears, researching and analyzing trends, industry changes, and public sentiment that could impact our products. You will be an influential voice, providing insights into public opinion and policy development to further enhance users' trust and safety.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze the public perception of company products by analyzing news reports, social media, and databases. Assess and analyze large amounts of data in order to identify sources of potential threats and abuses, operate independently in a fast-paced environment, and proactively collaborate with teams across the company;
- Detect, analyze and synthesize emerging risks and threat vectors using open source analysis and internal tools to mitigate harm to ByteDance, our products and our communities;
- Research and evaluate various regulatory information, including but not limited to legislation and law enforcement for cybersecurity, data privacy and social media regulations in the Americas, with a focus on Latin America;
- Produce timely threat and abuse analysis reports to facilitate early mitigation efforts, forecast threat trajectories, and provide a comprehensive and detailed risk assessment across all products using available data in the Americas;
- Work independently in high-pressure situations and make sound decisions while balancing competing priorities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must obtain a bachelor's or higher degree, preferably in journalism, political science, international relations, public policy, law, risk management, or a related field;
- 1-3 years of full-time experience in tech, risk management, or safety domains;
- Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is required as this role will cover the Americas region;
- Subject matter knowledge on trust and safety issues, especially pertaining to various social media platforms, analytical tools, and OSINT research techniques;
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly;
- Experience in conducting research projects on emerging risks and issues, with the ability to manage standard operating procedures for regional risky events and escalation handling.

Job Information:

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $67724 - $135111 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
