PAY TRANSPARENCY: USD Starting Range $60000 - $70000/ year. Pay is commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To:

Research Workforce Management

FTE: 40% | Daily

Plan, direct, and supervise all R&D workforce activity through meetings, reporting procedures, job management software, training, and task delegation to ensure all research projects progress at an acceptable rate.

Laboratory Operations and Safety

FTE: 20% | 2-6 times/week

Develop and maintain laboratory inventory, SOPs, and safety protocols according to established protocols and guidelines to ensure uninterrupted research operations and employee health.

Project Management

FTE: 20% | Weekly

Engage with clients on all assigned projects in process.

Quality Control

FTE: 10% | Weekly

Conduct quality control inspections on all assigned projects in-process using direct observation, acquired experience/technical assessment, and established industry standards to ensure all work performed by the company meets established quality standards and that all research complies with contracts and technical plans.

Internal and External Reporting

FTE: 5% | Bi-Weekly

Report both internal and external scientific and commercial results to relevant parties. Reporting scientific and commercial data is a critical function of this role. Data reporting includes assembling datasets and identifying underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts. Analyses will be performed using software platforms such as R and Python. Statistical competency is critical. Generated reports must be at a quality sufficient for government/investor presentation.

Data Management

FTE: 5% | Weekly

Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in a secure electronic/magnetic form on local and cloud-based servers.

  • Finely tuned business acumen: high-level analysis, critical thinking, and decision-making skills are necessary
  • Effective, persuasive, and compelling communication skills are critical
  • Political savvy and personal leadership presence that fosters the respect, trust, goodwill, and support of internal and external stakeholders, including, but not limited to, customers, team members throughout all levels in the organization, investors, vendors/suppliers/distributors, and other service providers
  • High comfort level with technology, ERP software, and other data management tools, including but not limited to understanding and using financial statements, metric-driven performance reporting, all Microsoft Office products, online meeting tools, smartphones, and other technology tools. Knowledge/familiarity with other job-specific tools, including Python/MATLAB, Quickbooks, etc., is also a requirement
  • Background and investigative checks may be performed as part of the hiring process (this may include criminal, motor vehicle, employment/reference, and credit); results must be satisfactory to the company

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible/extended hours and travel as needed to accomplish objectives
  • Some local/regional/national/international travel is an irregular but essential duty. This requires having a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and providing your own transportation to and from industry/business events, as needed. Infrequent overnight travel associated with industry/business events may also be necessary; must also be able to travel by air and/or train
  • If hired, must adhere to all company policies and procedures, safety requirements, and other prescribed best practices/industry standards

Other Considerations:

Company offices are in an integral office setting in a fully operational, controlled laboratory environment. Work is performed mainly in the designated laboratory area. Individuals entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and personal protective equipment as defined in the company’s SOPs and safety manual. Individuals will have safety glasses, gloves, and a lab coat provided by the company. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required. Contact lenses may not be allowed in some areas.

The physical demands described here represent those that an individual must meet to successfully perform the job's essential functions.

The work requires individuals to talk, hear, stand, or sit for extended periods of time while using a computer, telephone, or other productivity devices to communicate with other team members and conduct business. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The individual frequently uses hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects and computer keyboards. The individual is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, squat, turn/twist, and smell. The individual must occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Occasional sitting, standing, moving forward/back/side-to-side, and working around machinery and moving parts is possible, as is exposure to electrical currents. Exposure to fumes, odors, dust, gases, chemicals, oils, sealants, solvents, and other compounds is possible; exposure to variations in noise levels is also possible.

On a frequent and routine basis, this job also requires the individual to be physically present in a manufacturing area to communicate with others and conduct business. The noise levels in the facility can also vary widely in different regions, and specific workspace restrictions are also possible. Occasional sitting, standing, moving forward/back/side-to-side, and working around machinery and moving parts is possible; exposure to electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gases, chemicals, oils, sealants, solvents, and other compounds is possible.
