The Research Operations Associate position will be responsible for executing tasks for the EXPAND (Enhancing eXploration Platforms and ANalog Definition) spaceflight research program, under the Institute’s Chief Engineer. The ideal candidate will accomplish the daily operations of this research program, including but not limited to baseline data collection, data transfer and reconciliation, vendor and inventory management, and other operational tasks as required while working regularly and collaboratively with TRISH science and operations team members. This role will support other Institute functions as part of the science office. Job Duties
Perform operational data study collection pre- and post-flight at commercial launch provider facilities or flight landing sites in Florida or other states
Develop safe procedures and training protocols to facilitate EXPAND quality data collection activities
Manage the EXPAND physical inventory and order supplies as needed for upcoming data collection sessions or launches
Transfer collected EXPAND data into the EXPAND database to develop a robust space biomedical research repository
Assist with ensuring regulatory compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidelines as well as federal and international laws protecting the privacy and confidentiality of human subject data
Support EXPAND’s external Data Privacy & Release Board in fulfilling data requests from the scientific community
Organize and maintain records within the EXPAND SharePoint site and other relevant databases
Prepare and ship hardware to conduct data collection in collaboration with EXPAND principal investigators
Coordinate and schedule meetings among team members and external stakeholders
Approximately 10-15% travel is required (approximately once every other month)
Substantial travel may occur on short notice and must be accommodated

Perform other duties as assigned in support of the EXPAND program and within the TRISH Science Office
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical background in a relevant field
Experience executing scientific experiments
Interest in the space industry is preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Apple iOS operating systems Characteristics and Qualities
Self-starter and tactical worker, excited to learn on the job
Strong communicator, both with written and oral skills
Flexible collaborator, comfortable with shifting deadlines and timelines
Highly organized with focus on attention to detail
Effective working in a hybrid work environment
