As the site is the flagship site for the organization, it is crucial that the right level of expertise is present. They require a person dedicated to spearheading the development, advocacy, and leadership of quality improvement initiatives for processes and product lines. They are tasked with ensuring that managers, process owners, and Team Quality Leaders actively participate in improvement plans and uphold their responsibilities within the quality management system.
This role operates collaboratively across the production facility and other production sites, fostering a continuous improvement philosophy across all programs, processes, and innovations company-wide. They will play a pivotal role in driving a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization, promoting cooperation and alignment to achieve overarching quality objectives.
- Hold full managerial responsibility for direct reports, including assigning work, providing coaching and training, and setting goals.
- Offer support for Customer regulatory and certification site audits, maintaining SQF certification and compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Serve as the process owner of the quality audit system, engaging all levels and roles of site personnel in leading process and product quality audits, fostering behaviors that drive improvement in lagging results.
- Act as a liaison between manufacturing and Sales, Customer Service, and Field Quality, delivering timely and appropriate feedback on quality issues in the field, including addressing customer Corrective Action Requests.
Experience And Education Required:
- Bachelor of Science degree required; degree in an engineering /science/ technical field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Management, Engineering, or Six Sigma
- Proficiency in plastics, extrusion, printing, and/or converting processes preferred.
- Accumulated experience of 10 years in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated flexibility in high-performance work environments and matrix-managed organizations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with professional presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Familiarity with statistical techniques and tools, including their application and interpretation.
- Ability to manage projects and quality processes involving multiple manufacturing areas.
- Proven capability to work independently and focus on critical project parameters determining success or failure.
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC), with preferred Lean Six Sigma or Black/Green Belt certification.
- Self-starter mentality, capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to lead change management.
- Customer-facing experience.
