Reporting to the Director of Technical & Quality Systems, this position involves overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS) and contributing to achieving quality objectives. You will lead by example, collaborating with colleagues to meet company goals and standards.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to uphold the ISO 9001 Quality Management System Standard.
- Conduct internal audits, oversee document control, manage revision control, and participate in external audits.
- Drive effective Corrective and Preventive Action processes and ensure calibration and MSA of measuring systems.
- Investigate and report quality issues, provide weekend coverage, and offer training to colleagues as required.
- Undertake any other assigned tasks, projects, or reports to support the continuous improvement of operations.
- Proficiency in the ISO 9001 Quality Management System standard and the ability to enhance the QMS to meet higher standards.
- Hold a Six Sigma Green Belt certification; Six Sigma Black Belt or CQE certification is a plus.
- Preferably possess a BS in Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Have at least 2 years of experience in quality or process engineering in a manufacturing setting, heavy manufacturing experience is beneficial.
- Competent in SPC, MSA, Auditing, and Calibration, with a preference for familiarity with additional lean tools.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational capabilities are crucial.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Ability to present information logically and coherently to various stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel occasionally, approximately 10-15%.
