Position Overview:

 

The Quality Supervisor plans, coordinates, and directs quality control personnel, programs and processes designed to ensure continuous operational performance of products consistent with established standards. Reports quality issues to senior management. Contribute to department efficiency by reviewing and improving processes and addressing training needs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·      Obtain, analyze, and coordinate corrective action, on significant deviations from quality standards. Effectively communicates relevant information to the management team.

·      Participates in the review of all manufacturing, purchasing, and processing documentation & procedures to ensure that the customers' quality requirements are met, both for current and new customers.

·      Strives for continuous improvement in overall defect-reduction, monitors defect-reduction procedure effectiveness, and implements appropriate adjustments.

·      Communicates with customer representative for quality related issues and concerns via email or through customer specific portals. Timely communications with customers on open or pending actions items.

·      Works with engineering and production staff to troubleshoot issues on the production floor.

·      Maintain ISO9001 quality system and complete audits to maintain certification and continuous improvement.

·      Establish and track departmental goals and objectives that provide world-class quality and technical services performance to the organization.

·      Determines priority and ensures completion of inspection processes.

·      Formulates and maintains quality control objectives complementary to company policy and goals.

·      Coordinates objectives with production supervisors to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.

·      Provides inspection activity direction throughout production cycle.

·      Directs employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, equipment, and products.

·      Collaborates with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality of all purchased parts and services.

·      Serves as primary contact for investigating customer quality complaints.

·      Streamlines inspection processes, implements new quality procedures, monitor production area quality control processes.

·      Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Position Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Education/Training:
  • High school diploma or GED required with completion of Technical School Certification. Bachelor’s Degree strongly desired.  
  • Demonstrated credentials in CNC machine operation, CAD/CAM technology, and other relevant competencies or equivalent training and experience required.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a manufacturing environment with specific focus on quality and inspection
  • Certification/Licensure: Technical School Certification or post-secondary schooling that includes training in math, metalworking, and CAD/CAM.
  • Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in mathematical skills including the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
