The Department of Pediatric Radiology provides a full range of imaging services for newborns, infants, children, teenagers, young adults and pregnant women at Boston Children's Hospital and our satellite clinics. Radiology leverages innovative technology to obtain the highest quality images and ensure the most accurate diagnoses.

This role for the Radiology Department will promote safe, high-quality care. The Consultant facilitates and coordinates multiple projects of varying size and priority to improve processes. They leverage strong data, organization, and communication skills to promote change. The Consultant assists department leaders in the development of project-related deliverables and serves as a change agent for key strategic initiatives.

The Quality Improvement Consultant – in Radiology will be responsible for:

  • Consulting, educating and professionally supporting for Hospital‑wide and departmental quality improvement programs, projects and initiatives
  • Educating and advising on methods, tools and techniques for monitoring and assessing quality of care and compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements
  • Providing support for implementation and evaluation of hospital and unit/department based programs and serving as program manager for system wide projects
  • Designing and administering customer surveys and analyzing, interpreting and presenting results
  • Establishing baseline metrics and developing measurement plans
  • Developing agendas, implementation plans, quality dashboards, proposals and other relevant materials to support project teams
  • Developing project related deliverables, including process workflow diagrams, PowerPoint presentations, status reports, communication plans, project plans/timelines
  • Organizing and coordinating team meetings to update divisional leadership on current performance and discuss new QI initiatives

To qualify you must have:

  • Master’s Degree in the field of Public Health, Healthcare Management or a closely related field
  • 2 years of data management experience in a clinical setting is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience in data management may substitute.
  • Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth, experienced based knowledge.
  • Communication skills in order to persuade and negotiate with others on important matters.
  • Hybrid remote role – 2x a week inhouse
