Why do we need you ?

As Purchasing Manager you will lead a team responsible for all purchasing activities at Saint Gobain Wayne, overseeing processes, negotiations, sourcing, and contract management. This role involves ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and compliant procurement practices, implementing sourcing strategies, and collaborating with internal departments and global purchasing teams.

You will analyze supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization. Additionally, the work closely with other Saint-Gobain entities stakeholders (category managers, regional purchasing group, business unit purchasing director…) and cross-functional teams to mitigate supply risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including supplier evaluation and audit programs. As purchasing manager, you will ensure compliance of practices and implement initiatives to constantly improve and seek excellence.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain and/or Purchasing discipline required, Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience

  • 7+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment in purchasing, supplier relationship management
  • 3+ years experience in a supervisor role managing/developing direct reports.
  • Relevant exposure to compliance programs and audit frames required.

  • Building the department, define roadmaps
  • Develop, coach and support direct/indirect reports

Additional Skills Required

  • Negotiation, project management, planning and material planning skills
  • Analytical thinking, Business intelligence, statistical analysis
  • Business acumen and basic finance
  • ERP system knowledge (QAD is a plus)
  • APICS certification (CPIM,CLTD,CSCP and/or SCOR) - minimum 1 certification, 2 certifications required if no supply chain degree or CPP certified.
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Power Point, notions of databases)
