Purchasing Manager

Job Description

We are currently looking to add a Manager to our leadership team. Managers are responsible for creating short-term and long-term category vision for their product line in alignment with the company’s overall goals and business model. Managers oversee both the product development teams and vendor management teams to ensure the overall success of the entire product category. This includes category sales and brands, sales and gross profit, new product development, marketing, vendor program negotiations, relationship management, operational efficiency and more. This position is full-time and located in Lancaster, PA, but is remote-friendly/hybrid-friendly for those within a 1-hour driving radius.

Purchasing Managers are leaders within Clark’s procurement division, which buys products for our various distribution channels (industry leading Ecommerce platform WebstaurantStore.com , The Restaurant Stores, Clark National Accounts, Clark Food Service Equipment, and 11400, Inc.). In 2023, we reached $3.6B in sales from a catalog of 450K+ SKUs.

Job Responsibilities

• Leadership, management, and accountability for the entire product family team
• Create short-term and long-term category vision in alignment with the company’s overall goals and business model
• Champion department initiatives; communicate and help facilitate them
• Develop employees at all levels of leadership and responsibility

Skills & Requirements

• 3-5 years experience in marketing, product or category development, or purchasing-related role
• Proven success at managing and leading a team
• Professional and effective communication skills and ability to bridge departments to complete tasks
• Creative and innovative thinker who can think outside of the box to solve problems and address bottlenecks
• Well-developed analytical skills; intuitive, curious and comfortable with change
• Strong computer skills; emphasis in Excel
• We consider applicants with diverse majors and work history; however, applicants frequently have education in Business Management, Supply Chain, Business Logistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Marketing, or a related field. Relevant positions include Procurement Director, Senior Category Manager, Senior Buyer, and Supply Chain Manager.
