Our client, a leading distributor of specialty, engineered and commodity thermoplastics is looking for a Buyer for their growing organization. The Buyer will be responsible for receiving, investigating, and responding to all customer and sales staff inquiries regarding orders, status of shipments, product information, availability of inventory, complaints and custom stocking programs.
The starting salary range is $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 based on experience.
The work schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals that enjoy working in an employee oriented environment, appreciate a great benefit program and seek career advancement opportunities.
Buyer Responsibilities: Maintaining Quality Customer Service while following a Proactive Purchasing Model.
Focus on a total savings mindset as it relates to overall supply chain management – negotiation of purchase cost, freight savings, and warehouse costs.
Build and develop relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Accurate processing of purchase orders following purchasing work instructions for assigned suppliers.
Daily coordination of supplier shipments, confirmations, and receipt of paperwork
Monitor all inbound purchase orders to ensure on-time arrival/delivery including overseas containers.
Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies, material returns, damage stock, and credit processing.
Responsible for the Demand Review, Forward Stock, Forecasting, and Reorder points for assigned suppliers and locations.
Work with Service Specialists and Sales to review custom stock programs for non-performance and communicate appropriately.
Review Material shortages inventory weekly and communicate to operations team.
Update & Maintain all supplier ISO documents to ensure accuracy.

Buyer Requirements: Associate’s degree or higher is preferred
2+ years of Purchasing related experience in a high volume work environment
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite
Experience with Prophet 21 is a plus.
