Position Overview: As a Proposal Manager, you will analyze and respond to competitive bidding documents, including Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Information (RFIs), and other solicitations from its government and commercial customers. We desire an energetic self-starter who can successfully promote our offerings and solutions, win competitive pursuits and position Veracity Engineering as the industry leader it is in this space.
The position features a hybrid schedule, requiring three days of onsite work (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in Washington, DC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the proposal development process from beginning to end, in accordance with the Veracity pursuit framework, ensuring that proposals meet all customer requirements such as deadlines, formats, and contents.
- Perform detailed analyses of requirements documents (e.g., RFP, RFQ, SOW) and communicate the results.
- Develop or lead development of proposal tools such as the outline, team assignments, proposal management plan, schedule, kick-off meeting materials, writing plans.
- Review draft proposal responses to ensure win themes and strategies are incorporated into the proposal.
- Ability to write original text for such activities as Executive Summaries, company qualifications / capabilities, past performance, resumes and other marketing-related materials.
- Assist with the review of proposal drafts to ensure readability and compliance, without distorting the author’s original intent.
- Conduct interviews and work closely with subject matter experts to ensure a comprehensive and compliant response. Incorporate and format written responses into a formal document at each review stage.
- With inputs from Business Development, create Capture and Bid/No-bid presentation.
- Participate as a company representative on external capture teams to gather important proposal information and coordinate Veracity contributions.
- Establish and maintain communications among teammates using collaborative tools, phone calls, e-mail, etc.
- Provide direction and coordination of content for proposal graphics.
- Perform substantive reviews of both text and graphics, ensure the assigned writing sections comply with RFP requirements, contain win strategies and win themes, and comply with standard format and style criteria.
- Attend win/loss debriefings and assist with developing lessons learned.
- Ensure that all documentation relevant to the project is retained in accordance with company and department procedures.
- Monitor opportunities daily on portals (Capture2Proposal, sam.gov, etc.) for new opportunities, market research, updates, amendments, or announcements, and maintain Veracity pipeline.
- Compete in both incumbent and non-incumbent workstreams, think critically, and strategically strengthen the competitive posture of the firm.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
III. Requirements:
Education:
Undergraduate Degree preferred
Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience with federal/government proposal efforts
- Experience with the Shipley Process for Capture, Managing & Writing Proposal Process
- Experience managing group/team responses for IDIQ / Task Order based proposal efforts.
- Experience with CRM/Opportunity-Pipeline management system(s)
Skills:
- Ability to research various government sites and GWAC sites for upcoming opportunities and track as applicable. Able to locate RFPs, drafts, announcements for upcoming bids.
- Ability to review, understand, and summarize the requirements of RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs.
- Ability to coordinate the development of multiple proposals simultaneously, which requires strong organizational and time management skills, and multi-tasking abilities.
- Ability to translate complex concepts and ideas into clear communications.
- Superior communication, writing, formatting, editing, and proofing skills.
- Advanced skills in Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and PDF.
- High level of attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
- Excellent customer service with individuals at all levels both internal and external, and an ability to take direction as well as give direction.
- Working skills in Adobe Creative Cloud and experience creating and editing graphics in Illustrator and InDesign not required, but a plus.
