POSITION TITLE: Project Manager – Heavy Civil / Highway Construction

LOCATION: New York.  --- Projects are in NY 5 Boughroghs: New York City, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and also Nassau County Long Island


COMPENSATION: $180,000 - $230,000 (Based on experience and Market Rate) + Bonus

SUMMARY


An experienced Construction Project Manager to plan and administer a wide range of complex construction projects in the NY Metropolitan market. The successful candidate will organize and oversee construction the successful progression of construction projects from the pre-construction phase until project closeout. 

The candidate will plan and execute the project in accordance with the required safety, technical requirements, schedules, and budgetary considerations.

The project manager will collaborate with the project superintendent, project engineer, estimating department, consultants, Owners, schedulers, and other project stakeholders. Excellent communication skills are required to achieve project goals and to project a positive image and reputation of the company.

 


RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Evaluate project plans and specifications to achieve a full understanding of project requirements.
  • Administer pre and post construction documentation requirements.
  • Identify, document, and pursue potential change orders and changed conditions.
  • Promote value engineering plans and proposals where desirable.
  • Identify and report unanticipated risk to management.
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements.
  • Identify and obtain required permits and licenses from appropriate authorities.
  • Determine needed resources (workforce, equipment, and materials) from start to finish and in accordance with budgetary considerations.
  • Identify and address constructability issues in collaboration with the project superintendent.
  • Provide input into the project baseline schedule and coordinate with the project scheduler on a regular basis. The candidate must be able to identify and correct any negative impacts to the approved schedule.
  • Strive to integrate innovation and efficiency to maximize financial return, safety, and quality goals.
  • Schedule equipment and material needs to assure project efficiency and continuity in accordance with the approved schedule.
  • Identify and provide support as required for the work of sub-contractors. 
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the work of sub-contractors.
  • Understand and achieve project minority participation goals.
  • Provide necessary support to the Project Superintendent and supervise project support staff. 

·       Review and understand job costs per the proposal and offer feedback to the estimating department as necessary.

  • Foster the professional development of project support staff.
  • Monitor job cost and report to the Project Executive.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Proven experience as a successful construction project manager.
  • In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
  • Design-Build and Best Value experience is a desirable.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, and MS Project. P6, Trimble Business Systems, Bluebeam, and Autocad experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction/ project management software such as Procore and Timberline.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • A collaborator with leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work nights, if required.
  • BS in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field.

  • Wastewater Pump Station – Dollar Size Approx. $60,000,000
  • Utility & Site Work Project – Dollar Size Approx. $30,000,000

JOB TYPE:  FULL-TIME


SALARY:   Base salary: $Open or Market Rate + Bonus
