FCI is in search for a Project Engineer to join our team. Our Nuclear division specializes in delivering level, flow, and temperature measurement solutions for the nuclear power industry. We are looking for a talented individual who can drive our current and upcoming projects to the next level.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with excellent problem-solving skills to identify and implement process improvements for efficiency. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects from conception through completion and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality products and solutions to our customers. This position will be located at our San Marcos, CA office location.
The Job:
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the schedule of our engineering projects through design, development, and delivery. You will conduct technical analyses and provide engineering solutions to support the project goals and deadlines. Your ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders will be essential in driving the project to success. Additionally, you will ensure that all projects comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies, maintaining a high level of quality and safety.

Here are some examples of day-to-day duties:
Support the design of piece parts, assemblies, manufacturing processes and create Bill of Materials (BOM)
Utilize MS-Project to schedule and actively drive project tasks to completion along the critical path
Develop project plans, estimates, and schedules
Interface with the customers and maintain a professional dialogue while providing updates and support
Collaborate with technical staff and production to ensure tasks are completed according to the plan
Ensure rapid closure of product quality discrepancies and recommend recovery plans
Provide production support as necessary and engage in continuous improvement of production processes
Research requirements and analyze data, such as customer specifications to determine feasibility of design
Coordinate and conduct qualification testing, analyzing test data and writing formal test procedures and reports
Select or design appropriate test tools to facilitate testing and optimize manufacturing processes
Purchase support of raw materials
Become a subject matter expert (SME) on certain product lines
Other duties as assigned
Safety
Follow safe work practices, participate in safety training as required, and report any unsafe condition or accident
The following experience, education, and qualifications are required to hold this position:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering with 2 or more years of related work experience
Proficient in MS Office Suite, MS-Project
Strong technical writing and problem-solving skills
Able to multitask and drive tasks to closure in a timely manner
Demonstrated experience leading large projects to delivery to external stakeholders.
Prior Manufacturing experience preferred
Knowledge of SolidWorks, CAD, and PSpice is a plus
Prior work experience in Aerospace or Nuclear, equivalent industry is a plus
Physical/Travel Requirements
This position requires sitting, typing, and working at a computer station 80% of the time
Minimum walking or standing and lifting up to 15 lbs. are required
This position does not require travel
