Program Assistants help individuals with special needs at our Adult Day Program complete fun activities and become active participants in the community. This position is Full Time or Part Time. No Weekends or Holidays. Must have a valid driver's license.

Program Assistant Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring a safe environment for program participants and staff.
  • Assists in meeting the needs of the individual participants.
  • Assists in maintaining daily data collection on the programs and activities therein.
  • Responsible for maintaining an active and age appropriate program environment.
  • Assists in meeting the personal, developmental and therapeutic needs of individual participants (changing, feeding, positioning).
  • Participates in community based activities with the program participants on a rotating basis.
  • Is responsible for keeping their program area clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of 2380 regulations as well as ADP and St. Joseph’s policies and procedures.
  • Interacts with each program participant in a manner, which assures respect, dignity, privacy and human rights.

Education And/or Experience

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years experience working with persons with disabilities preferred, but not required
  • Valid PA Driver’s License preferred but not required
