As a Principal Specialist in Supplier Development, you'll play a crucial role in driving improvements with our key suppliers, ensuring their performance meets and exceeds expectations. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, and Operations, you'll help resolve critical issues that affect our business operations. Your responsibilities will also include identifying and mitigating risks to ensure seamless manufacturing, supply chain, and delivery schedules align with customer demands.
What You'll Do
Lead initiatives to enhance the performance of our key suppliers through continuous improvement programs and strategic interventions.
Conduct onsite assessments to evaluate supplier capabilities, providing training and support as needed.
Assess and manage supplier capacity readiness to meet Collins' program requirements, coordinating action plans and monitoring progress.
Address complex issues through structured tactical and strategic approaches.
Foster strong partnerships with suppliers, emphasizing collaboration, transparency, and mutual goal achievement.
Identify and resolve gaps in supplier manufacturing processes, implementing sustainable solutions.
Assist suppliers in establishing metrics to monitor manufacturing process health and stability.
Travel up to 70% for day trips and 5% for overnight stays as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in supply chain, quality, operations, or engineering.
Experience In a Manufacturing Environment Is Required.
Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis or continuous improvement tools preferred.
Knowledge of the aerospace industry is advantageous.
